Surah Ali Imran Ayah 5
This ayah calls us to stay far away from denial in even its lightest form.
Even when we struggle to fully grasp one of His verses or signs or commands due to limited understanding or clarity, the response is not rejection, but humble acceptance. Why? Because Allah establishes His knowledge through this ayah, as well as the ones before and after it. When the ultimate source of knowledge is Allah Himself, then whatever comes from Him is free from flaw.
So if that knowledge does not immediately appeal to us, it does not point to a deficiency in the revelation, rather it exposes a deficiency within us.
The cure, then, is not argument or resistance, but istighfar. Through repentance, our inner flaws are softened, our hearts are purified, and we become worthy enough to receive deeper understanding. Istighfar enables us by Allah’s mercy, to rise to a level where His guidance becomes clearer and easier to live by.
Viewed from this angle, life itself becomes a continuous struggle of self-correction and elevation, so that we may understand this superior guidance in its most beautiful form and translate it into the best possible way of living. In that journey, there is truly no time to waste.
May Allah protect us from arrogance, ignorance, and every form of denial that comes from them. And may He grant the same protection and Iman to those around us. Ameen.
